Dr. Richard J. Matyi, the founder and Principal Officer of MidFlorida Materials & Characterization LLC, has enjoyed a successful and productive career in academia, government and industry. He has over 40 years direct experience in the growth, characterization and utilization of the major materials classes – metals, ceramics, semiconductor materials and polymers – with hands-on experience in the application of a variety of characterization tools. His record of scholarly work (Google Scholar: h-index 35) includes over 190 scientific publications (Google Scholar: 55 literature citations), over 130 technical presentations, seven books or book chapters, three U.S. patents issued, two Standard Reference Materials created and one ISO standard published. He is an internationally recognized expert in X-ray methods used in materials analysis, with documented leadership in high resolution X-ray diffraction and X-ray reflectometry approaches to the structural characterization of materials.
